Chip Romero was only six years old when he knew what he wanted to do with his life… Perform magic!
His interest in magic began when he received his first TV Magic set. By the age of ten, back yard magic shows were a regular occurrence. By the age of twelve he was performing at banquets, birthday parties, as well as major department store promotions around town. Over two thousand people witnessed Chip's first performance of "The Floating Lady." At that time he was just sixteen years old. By the age of twenty three Chip was performing at major magic conventions in Louisiana and Texas.
Chip began his full time career in the late eighties performing at Magic Island in Houston Texas. It was here that he honed his skills performing grand illusion as well as close-up magic. During this time Chip also worked many comedy clubs across the country.
By the age of twenty six he was working such grand ocean liners as NCL's SS Norway, Royal Caribbean's Sovereign of the Seas, and Cunard's Queen Elizabeth II. By the early nineties Chip had the largest illusion show afloat in the world!
Today, in a career spanning over two decades, with well over one thousand weeks afloat, Chip Romero has established himself as one of the greatest cruise ship magicians in the history of magic.
In addition to being a most knowledgeable historian on the art of magic, he also houses one of the finest contemporary magic collections in the world.
